What a great entertaining podcast. Miles explained the legalities of the women’s soccer situation in ways we now understand. Who knows what will happen to Duke basketball images. Loved the insights. Arnold and Spike need to meet in Guam and try their hands at surfing for money. Hysterical.
Arnold knows his stuff! Great explanation of the Bundesliga ownership regulations as well. For those who still need a team, it’s also worth mentioning that Hoffenheim is the other upstart corporate team trying to get around league rules. They’ve been around a little longer than RB Leipzig and are financed by SAP and its founder Dietmar Hopp. Matches this year have had to be interrupted multiple times because of opposing fans insulting Hopp with obscene banners and chants.
The significance of the Dortmund-Schalke rivalry (Revierderby) cannot be overstated. Probably only outdone in all of Europe by Barça-Real.
