03:58: Trivia!

05:57: Ariana Eily joins to talk about the Zion Williamson scandal, whether Coach K will continue to be teflon throughout, and how it could rebound back on the NCAA.

26:38: Miles Cottom joins with his massive legal brain to break down the California circuit ruling that the U.S. women’s national team cannot proceed in their case against U.S. soccer on the topic of equal pay. A complicated and super interesting issue, and Miles has the lowdown.

48:52: “Arnold” joins me to discuss the allure of beautiful German soccer, which starts up again this weekend and will be the first major sports league (unless Korean baseball counts??) to hold matches in the Corona Era. He tells us which matches to watch, and why we might love it.

1:06:20: Spike’s take! The infamous billionaire is back in international waters, and as fate would have it, he has an opinion about German soccer. And folks, you are NOT going to like it.

  1. What a great entertaining podcast. Miles explained the legalities of the women’s soccer situation in ways we now understand. Who knows what will happen to Duke basketball images. Loved the insights. Arnold and Spike need to meet in Guam and try their hands at surfing for money. Hysterical.

  2. Arnold knows his stuff! Great explanation of the Bundesliga ownership regulations as well. For those who still need a team, it’s also worth mentioning that Hoffenheim is the other upstart corporate team trying to get around league rules. They’ve been around a little longer than RB Leipzig and are financed by SAP and its founder Dietmar Hopp. Matches this year have had to be interrupted multiple times because of opposing fans insulting Hopp with obscene banners and chants.

The significance of the Dortmund-Schalke rivalry (Revierderby) cannot be overstated. Probably only outdone in all of Europe by Barça-Real.

    1. Arnold would like to offer the following amendments to his testimony:
      – RasenBallsport, the RB in RB Leipzig, means “Lawn Ball Sport” according to Google.com.
      – Dortmund did indeed lose to Bayern in the 2013 Champions League Final.
      – Koln’s goat mascot will be banned from matches: https://www.espn.com/soccer/blog-the-toe-poke/story/4094213/coronavirus-lockdown-colognes-goat-mascot-hennes-ix-barred-from-matches-by-new-hygiene-rules-as-bundesliga-resumes
